متن کاملFormulas for approximating pseudo-Boolean random variables
We consider {0, 1}n as a sample space with a probability measure on it, thus making pseudo-Boolean functions into random variables. We then derive explicit formulas for approximating a pseudo-Boolean random variable by a linear function if the measure is permutation-invariant, and by a function of degree at most k if the measure is a product measure. These formulas generalize results due to Ham...

متن کاملPseudo-random sequences, boolean functions and cellular automata
Generation of pseudo-random binary sequences by one-dimensional cellular automata is surveyed using both uniform and hybrid automata. The updating function is a Boolean function that must satisfy criteria of resilience and nonlinearity for the sequence they generate to be secure for a stream cipher application.
متن کاملFast Pseudo-Hadamard Transforms
We prove that the fast pseudo-Hadamard transform (FPHT) over a finite field has a bounded branch number. We shall demonstrate that the transform has an efficient implementation for various platforms compared to an equal dimension MDS code. We prove that when using a CS-Cipher[3] like construction the weight of any 2R trail is bounded for the case of an 8 × 8 transform. We show that the FPHT can...
